Howard LevittHoward Levitt practices employment law throughout Canada for employers and employees. He writes a bi-weekly workplace law column for the National Post. He is also author of Canada's leading dismissal text, The Law of Dismissal in Canada and editor-in-chief of the national law reporter, the Dismissal and Employment Law Digest, which covers every dismissal and employment law case across Canada. His text and law report is cited in more decisions across Canada than any other text. It is used by judges, practitioners and law schools across Canada. Mr. Levitt is also author of The Quick Reference to Employment Law. He chairs the Law Society of Upper Canada's annual Workplace Law Conference. He regularly appears on radio and television and is often quoted in numerous articles in the Canadian news media as well as publications such as the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. His practice includes wrongful dismissal, unjust dismissal pursuant to the Canada Labour Code, human rights, harassment, breach of fiduciary duty, employment contracts, Worker's Compensation, Workplace Health and Safety, injunctions, wrongful hiring, negligent misrepresentation and all other aspects of employment law, labour law and human resource litigation. He is the recipient of the 1992 Governor General's Medal. He is Counsel to the law firm of Lang Michener and practices out of its Toronto, Vancouver and Ottawa offices. He has argued more employment law cases before the Supreme Court of Canada than any other lawyer.
